Storyteller
The universe is made of stories, not atoms. ~ Muriel Rukeyser
Cara has always loved the power of the written word. Books have been a constant sanctuary. But her most favorite joy of all was reading to her sons, Ethan and Jesse. Snuggled together on the couch right after their baths and before bedtime, they would open each book and adventure into new worlds together. The books’ complexities would grow along with her sons’ ages. So they’d begin with the enchantment of Good Night Moon, The Runaway Bunny, Where the Wild Things Are, In the Night Kitchen and progress to the worlds of Heidi, Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, Gulliver’s Travels, Swiss Family Robinson, The Little Prince, Dandelion Wine, To Kill a Mockingbird, and a myriad of other childhood favorites that she still has at home — and now shared with her precious grandsons, Kaio and Nicholas.
The pictures that they each carry in their heads are unique. The way they envision each journey belongs only to them. The words gave them each a gift of fantasy and fed their imaginations. And it gave her endless joy in reading these beloved stories again — out loud.
The art of storytelling is a gift passed from one to another — whether it’s verbal or written, danced, painted, spoken in sign language or song. It is the way we express an experience that must be conveyed and remembered. For as long as she can remember, she has dreamed of communicating to the world—one story at a time—ever connecting thoughts and images and feelings with others as they connect back their own to her. She hopes you enjoy her own written thoughts and share them with others along the way…

Hi Cara
I worked a long long time ago wit Peter at Jareds, I also attended one of your story tellings when you wrote letters from Otto. I enjoyed myself. I was wondering if you still help people tell their storys? My is writing her child hood memoirs, and immediately thought of you. You had told me that night that everyone has a story to tell, and that you loved helping people put it to pen. Would love to meet up with and introduce you to my wife. Hope this letter finds you and yours safe and well.
Thank You Sandra Maske
Thank you, Sandra!
I would very much like to speak with you about your project! I, too, am
working on my memoirs this very moment. I think with us all being tucked in
and facing mortality more than ever our focus is on our lives in very
meaningful ways.
My email is: cara [at] wordsfromcara [dot] com; phone: 831-236-1490
I encourage you to text or email me with your thoughts about your
book and when we can have the time to chat about it. As I am
working on my own project and others my writing time is limited for
others but there’s still windows of possibilities always, right?
If I may help jumpstart you and your wife in the direction you
envision I would love that.
Let’s talk!
(btw, Peter sends his love!)
Warmest wishes–
Cara
